Peaberry Coffee: A Rare and Delicious Coffee with a Unique Flavour

Let's dive into the wonderful world of peaberry coffee!

If you're wondering what exactly peaberry coffee is, how it differs from regular coffee, and what makes it so special, you've come to the right place.

What is peaberry coffee?

Peaberry coffee is a little coffee bean wonder! Unlike regular coffee beans that have two halves, peaberry beans are the result of a rare occurrence - just one seed grows inside the coffee cherry, creating a small, rounded bean with a split in the center. These tiny gems occur as a natural mutation, they make up only about 5% of the total coffee harvest. Our peaberries are selected by hand from the rest of the harvest after they have been graded for size.  Coffee farming is a family affair with Fatima, David's wife, taking on the challenge every year of selecting the peaberries.

How is peaberry coffee different from regular coffee?

The magic of peaberry lies in its unique composition. With all the flavors and nutrients concentrated in one little bean, it is often considered to be more intense and complex than regular beans.

Where peaberry coffee comes from

Peaberry coffee can be found in all coffee-growing regions, also known in Spanish as caracol, or snail. While it's been around for centuries, its rise to fame began when savvy coffee enthusiasts realized its exceptional taste and started seeking it out.

The best way to brew peaberry coffee

When you have something as special as peaberry coffee, you want to treat it right. Whether you prefer a pour-over, french press, or aeropress, the key is to use fresh, high-quality beans, ideally grind them just before brewing, and let the magic happen!
